"EVE COMES HOME " MINI COMIC EXERCISE (OCTOBER 2006)
In an attempt to emulate the yearly "24 Hour Comic Day" event, I decided to make my own version of it, making myself do a fast,
no editing, stream of consciousness writing/drawing exercise, and to base it off of a random source for inspiration.
Inspired by the frank, skilled autobiographical writing of Alison Bechdel's "Fun Home" graphic novel, I wanted to try and write a comic
about a very personal (and 100% true) moment in my life, and still hold it to the requirements of being a well told, objectively viewed story.
It was hard. Really hard, and very difficult to keep from being sentimental, sappy or cliched. I was pretty happy with the end results,
but still ask for feedback on the craft of the storytelling.
