Cookies and Wine!

Yes, this is the new catchphrase in the Irwin/Sizer household, and it’s sweeping the nation! (well, not really, but we liked it…)
Born from the suggestion of what to have as we both settled in to watch the final episodes of “Firefly”, we remembered that we had some inexpensive good wine and good cookies from the Farmer’s Market. (Truthfully, the cookies cost nearly as much as the wine, or better stated, the wine cost as much as the cookies…) So, when Jane asked what I wanted for dessert, I called out in my best Fred Sanford voice “Woman, bring me some cookies and wine!” Jane, who usually takes the heady intellectual road for her humor was nearly on the floor laughing her butt off, as was I. For whatever reason, it was what we both found funny, and was quickly added into our shared lexicon.
Now, we can use it as a qualifier, such as: “Jane, I love you more than cookies and wine.”
God, we are both such dorks…
