DORIT CHRYSLER “CALDER PLAYS THEREMIN” LP

After working with theremin player Dorit Chrysler on the 100 year anniversary of the invention of the theremin album project, I was asked to design another of Dorit’s many projects, this time for the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City. Dorit was asked to document her project of using the Alexander Calder mobiles at the museum to trigger and “play” an array of theremins set up around the large mobile sculptures. The sessions were recorded on video and hi-def audio and are now available as an exclusive vinyl album release at the MoMA Design Store.  Y0u can also read about the project — and hear a sample of the music — in the MoMA Magazine.
