Under Pressure 2019

UNDER PRESSURE is a marathon print event created by the Print Media department of the Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University, where large format prints are made using a steamroller as the “press” outside the Richmond Center for Fine Arts. I was approached to do the designs for the posters for the event, and it expanded into creating the identity and signage for the entire event, including limited edition signed prints for fundraising. It was great collaborating with the students in the program alongside instructors Patricia Villalobos and Nichole Maury. Below you can see a video (made by Jane Irwin) of the day’s events, showing the scale of the prints and the process of the printing. In addition to the design, I also DJed the event all day as DJ DazzleShip, and provided an eclectic musical background to the proceedings.

Screen printed posters on the drying racks.
Limited edition blue/silver ink on black paper prints.
