“MOPED ARMY” WINS 2nd PLACE IN TWO GLYPH AWARD CATEGORIES

The 2006 GLYPH Awards were announced this last weekend in Philadelphia at the 5th Annual East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention (ECBACC), and MOPED ARMY took 2nd place honors in two of the three categories in which it was nominated: “Best Writer” and “Story of the Year”.
Considering the stellar talent in each category, I am amazed and honored that MOPED ARMY was seen as a contender and worthy of the expert scrutiny and critique it received to be nominated alongside these other creators. Kyle Baker swept many of the awards, after an amazing year of some of his most diverse and hard hitting work. He’s who I would have voted for, so I’m glad to see him get the praise he so richly deserves. Congrats to all the winners, who you can check out here: (GLYPH AWARDS)
Rich Watson, one of the judges and originators of the GLYPHS, wrote this really nice summation of MOPED ARMY last week in his blog, as he spotlighted all of the nominees for each award. You can check that out here: STORY OF THE YEAR NOMINEE
